When they met in college, future sisters-in-law Dominique and Monica Walters were self-described "sun goddesses." They’d use minimal sun protection and visit tanning salons frequently. But those years of bronzing eventually took their toll, and both were diagnosed with melanoma around the time they turned 30.
These days, Dominique and Monica take a cautious approach to the sun. They avoid prolonged exposure, apply sunscreen with a high sun protection factor, and participate in the MoleSafe program at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center.
