Volunteers provide a vital customer service link to our patients and visitors, and assist staff in more than 60 departments. Thanks to their dedicated commitment of time and talent, we are able to offer patients, visitors and employees extra support. Our volunteers' roles are varied, and include, for example: greeting patients and visitors; providing patient escort and transport; helping with food service; managing the library cart; and providing clerical and reception assistance.
CentraState's volunteers are highly appreciated and honored for their hard work and dedication.
Volunteer Recognition
We are proud to recognize our volunteers every year at a Volunteers Appreciation luncheon during National Volunteers Week in April. Each month we also honor a Volunteer of the Month with a celebration in the department where he/she works, a poster that is shared throughout the organization, and recognition in the internal newsletter. We are also proud to nominate our volunteers for recognition by outside organizations.
In 2007, the Volunteer Center of Monmouth County, a division of Family and Children's Services, selected Therese Vanecek, a 20-year volunteer at CentraState Medical Center's Information Desk, as its Retired Senior Volunteer of the Year for 2007. Vanecek had donated more than 4,200 hours of service to CentraState at the time she was nominated.
The Center also honored student volunteer Polina Aron for her 400-plus hours of service at CentraState, and acknowledged volunteer Robert Schatz, our nominee for the 2007 Volunteerism Award for Outstanding Adult Individual.
CentraState's Volunteer Office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you'd like to volunteer, or for more information about the services volunteers provide, call (732) 294-2622.
