Volunteers provide a vital customer service link to our patients and visitors, and assist staff in more than 75 departments. Thanks to their dedicated commitment of time and talent, we are able to offer patients, visitors and employees extra support. Our volunteers’ roles are varied, and include, for example: greeting patients and visitors; providing patient escort and transport; helping with food service; managing the library cart; and providing clerical and reception assistance. We also have assignments involving patient contact on our nursing units as well as in all of our senior living communities.

 

Becoming a volunteer affords you the opportunity to experience the day to day operation of the healthcare system as well as serving those in the community. We ask for a four hour commitment once a week. You will be given an assignment that you will report to every week on the same day at the same time, to build your schedule around your volunteer commitment.

We are currently updating our application process. The new application will be available to download in the Fall. Our next group of adults with applications currently on file will be interviewed in September.

 

We offer two Student Volunteer Programs annually. The Winter Program begins on Martin Luther King Day, January 16, 2012 and ends on June 20, 2012. The Summer Program begins June 25, 2012 and ends Labor Day, September 3, 2012. We are currently updating our application process. The new application will be available to download in the Fall. Due to the large number of student applicants we will be accepting applications on a first come first served basis.
