Volunteers provide a vital customer service link to our patients and visitors, and assist staff in more than 75 departments. Thanks to their dedicated commitment of time and talent, we are able to offer patients, visitors and employees extra support. Our volunteers' roles are varied, and include, for example: greeting patients and visitors; providing patient escort and transport; helping with food service; managing the library cart; and providing clerical and reception assistance.
CentraState's volunteers are highly appreciated and honored for their hard work and dedication.
Volunteer Recognition
We are proud to recognize our volunteers every year at a Volunteers Appreciation luncheon during National Volunteers Week in April. Each month we also honor a Volunteer of the Month with a celebration in the department where he/she works, a poster that is shared throughout the organization, and recognition in the internal newsletter. We are also proud to nominate our volunteers for recognition by outside organizations.
In 2009, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Monmouth County, a division of Youth and Family Services, selected Mary Scucchia, a 20-year volunteer at CentraState Healthcare System, as its Retired Senior Volunteer of the Year. Mary had donated more than 4,500 hours of service to CentraState at the time she was nominated.
CentraState's Volunteer Office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you'd like to volunteer, or for more information about the services volunteers provide, call (732) 294-2622.
