Services & Capabilities
Patient-Centered Care
When you enter the Family Medicine Center as a patient, you and your family are assigned to a family physician who will become your personal healthcare provider. Quality of care is enhanced when the physician knows and serves the family over a period of time.
 
Your doctor is part of a team of physicians who work closely together. If for any reason your regular physician is not available, one of the other members of the team will take care of you. If a specialty physician, test, or procedure is not available at the Family Medicine Center, you will be referred to the appropriate specialist. Your family physician will remain in contact with you, your family members and the specialist during your treatment. The family physician will continue to provide your care when the specialist is no longer required.
 
Our friendly staff offers high-quality, compassionate care to all of our patients. In addition to physicians, our professional staff includes registered and licensed practical nurses, certified medical assistants, a dietitian, a social worker and a psychologist. A physician is on call 24/7 to provide care and treatment in case of emergency.  
Family Medicine Center Services
To ensure that you and your family receive comprehensive care, the Family Medicine Center provides a range of services, including:
  • Preventive medicine, including physical examinations, health screenings and counseling
  • Minor surgery, cryosurgery and laceration repair (stitches)
  • Women’s health services, including PAP smears and maternity care
  • Well baby/well child care
  • Immunizations
  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses
  • Office procedures and treatments
  • Management of chronic conditions
  • Follow-up services
  • Prescriptions
  • Patient and family education, group discussions, audios and videos
  • Family consultations, pre-marital and marital counseling
  • Adolescent and adult care
  • Geriatric care and special programs for the elderly
The Family Medicine Center is certified as a HealthStart Comprehensive Maternity Care and HealthStart Pediatric Care provider by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
 
If hospitalization is necessary, patients are cared for by the Family Medicine Practice Team at CentraState Medical Center

The Family Medicine Center is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We ask that you call in advance to schedule your appointment. Our staff will make every effort to accommodate situations that require same-day care. Please call the office if you need to cancel an appointment—we will work with you to reschedule. Additionally, there is a physician on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for advice, care and treatment in case of an emergency.
