Family Medicine Residency Program

Our Family Medicine Residency program is an unopposed, university-sponsored residency located in a safe, suburban, and culturally diverse community. We are a strong, technologically-advanced practice able to offer our residents, all of whom are employees of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), various fellowships, access to enthusiastic and highly experienced UMDNJ faculty, and highly competitive UMDNJ salaries and benefits. Our diverse mix of ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic patient population allow for a well-rounded learning experience! After completion of the residency, Monmouth County offers tremendous opportunity for practice establishment within a growing community.

Our ground-breaking program offers UMDNJ residents training for the future of family medicine. We practice medicine in a newly expanded and refurbished Family Medicine Center. Some of the great perks of this location are free parking, a daily meal allowance, and discounted membership to a new Fitness and Wellness Center. As a national leader in Family Medicine Electronic Medical Records, we can offer a technologically innovative practice structure with flexible curriculum tailored to the career you want. CentraState Medical Center offers tremendous support to our graduates regarding job placement and our location offers ample and diverse opportunities.
 
The supportive and energetic UMDNJ faculty members have proven successful in building Family Medicine practices and have been published in well-respected journals like the Swanson Family Medicine Review. As members of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, our residents are granted full access to the RWJMS library system.

The Latest Technology
The Family Medicine Center is a modern facility featuring the latest technology for the optimal teaching environment. This includes closed-circuit video monitoring in patient care rooms, which allows faculty to observe resident physicians’ patient care sessions. All charting is done electronically, allowing physicians to access patients’ medical records from remote locations, such as the hospital and private physician offices, through a secure internet connection.

Within close proximity to New York City and Philadelphia, CentraState rests in a suburban setting—just a twenty-minute drive from the Jersey Shore!
