CentraState's Clinical Laboratory Department provides routine and STAT testing for outpatients, inpatients, and patients using the Emergency Department or the Family Medicine Center. Services are provided for all ages—infants through senior adults.

Outpatient Laboratory Services

Convenience, skillful and quick service, and experienced staff are hallmarks of CentraState’s Outpatient Lab.

Extended hours of operation are designed to easily accommodate the busy schedules of adults and children:

Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At other times and on major holidays, Outpatient Lab services can be accessed through the Emergency Department.

Located on the ground floor of the medical center, the Lab is easily accessible from the outpatient parking lot, as well as from the hospital’s main entrance, where free valet parking is available to all patients receiving services at CentraState. Click Here for more information on valet parking.

Our phlebotomists are careful, considerate and experienced—exceptional qualities that consistently garner high ratings in patient satisfaction surveys. Their goal is provide quick and compassionate service while preventing or limiting potential discomfort.

Wait time is minimal. Patients are generally in and out in 10 minutes.

Appointments & Registration

No appointment is required for most tests. Appointments are necessary for glucose tolerance tests, lactose tolerance tests and semen analysis, and should be made through the Centralized Scheduling department at (732) 294-2778.

Before receiving service from the Outpatient Lab, you will need to register for your lab work in the Outpatient Registration department, which is located next to the Outpatient Lab. You will need to bring your prescription, insurance information and personal identification, such as a driver’s license. If you do not have insurance or if services from CentraState’s Lab are not covered by your insurer, you will be billed for your lab work.

Pre-registration is available for Lab services by calling (732) 294-2681. Patients who have registered as a recurring patient having the same procedure on a repeated basis may report directly to the Outpatient Lab. The recurring registration must be renewed in the Outpatient Registration department every 90 days. Prescriptions are valid for one year.

Lab Test Results

Patient reports are automatically faxed to all physicians who accept faxed reports. Reports are mailed to physicians who prefer this service. You will need to contact your physician for your results.

This is a free service that can help you locate a medical professional whose training you can trust. CentraState has more than 500 board-certified physicians and dentists on staff. Our computer database allows us to match you with a physician or dentist according to your needs. Information about medical training and practice location is also available.
