 CentraState sets Baby & Children’s Fair for October 22

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — CentraState Medical Center is holding a free Baby & Children’s Fair for parents, parents to be and those considering a pregnancy on Tuesday, October 22, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main Street, Freehold.

Attendees can meet CentraState’s board-certified obstetricians, pediatricians, family practice physicians and related hospital staff; attend lectures; and win raffles and door prizes. There also will be tours of CentraState’s First Impressions Maternity Center during which guests can learn about the experienced and caring nurses who staff the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum units and the Colette Cipriano Special Care Nursery.

The event offers five free seminars: Preparing for Pregnancy & Trying to Conceive with physicians from Healthy Woman Ob/Gyn, at 6:15 p.m.; What to Expect During Pregnancy with Tiffany Martinez, DO, at 6:35 p.m.; What to Expect During Labor & Delivery with Steven Goldstein, MD, at 6:55 p.m.; Benefits of Breastfeeding and More with Diana Mayer, MD, at 7:15 p.m.; and Tummy Aches, Hiccups and Rashes, Oh My! with Santisree Tanikella, MD, at 7:35 p.m. A variety of mother/baby service and product vendors will provide information and free gifts as well.

Participants can also get flu shots for a fee of $20 per person, and Tdap shots to protect against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough) for a fee of $50 per person.

CentraState also offers a wide range of prenatal and parenting classes through its Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center. Expectant and new mothers can find classes to help plan for a healthy pregnancy, prepare for childbirth, or learn how to comfort a newborn through infant massage, among others.
