CentraState to host Cancer Survivors Day celebration on June 1st

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — CentraState Healthcare System is hosting its seventh annual Cancer Survivors Day event on Sunday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring guest speaker Jan McInnis—a humorist and comedy writer who will focus on the topic of “Hope, Humor and Healing.”

The free event is open to anyone who has been touched by cancer and will be held at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main Street. The event will also include music, refreshments, a mini-health fair, sharing of survivor stories and other activities.

National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual worldwide event celebrating life after a cancer diagnosis. The National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation defines a “survivor” as anyone living with a history of cancer—from the moment of diagnosis onward.

Registration for Cancer Survivors Day is requested by calling 866-CENTRA7 (236-8727) or register online. For more information on CentraState’s comprehensive Cancer Center, call 855-411-CANCER. To view videos of cancer survivors, visit centrastate.com/empowered.

CentraState Healthcare System is a nonprofit community health organization consisting of an acute-care hospital, a health and wellness campus, three senior living communities, a Family Medicine Residency Program, and a charitable foundation. CentraState’s teaching program is sponsored by Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
