CentraState to offer women’s health event on October 1

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP—CentraState Medical Center is continuing its unique, Live Life Well program series with a free Women’s Health Event on Tuesday, October 1, from 5:30-8 p.m. at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main Street, Freehold.

The event will feature seminars, presented by clinical experts, on how to improve one’s mind, body and spirit. A lecture about heart disease will discuss the warning signs in women, along with ways to prevent and protect oneself from this disease. Participants can also learn about how estrogen plays an important part in losing and gaining weight and tips to help jump start your metabolism. Topics such as breast health, and irregular or heavy menstrual cycles, will also be presented, as well as debunking popular nutrition myths.

Presenters include an anesthesiologist, interventional radiologist, internal medicine specialist, a breast surgeon, and registered dietitian.

The event will also feature health screenings throughout the evening, including blood pressure, body fat and blood glucose screenings. Cholesterol screenings will also be available for a nominal fee of $20.
For more information about the Women’s Health Event and upcoming Live Life Well programs or to register, call (732) 308-0570 or visit centrastate.com/livewell.

In addition, a colorectal cancer screening for women only with Vasudha Dhar, MD, board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, will be offered at 6 p.m. The screening cost is $10, and space is limited and an appointment is required. The screening will consist of a rectal exam and occult blood check.
