CentraState now offers NJHA Certified Application Counselors to assist uninsured patients

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – CentraState Medical Center now has Certified Application Counselors (CACs) from the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) on site to help uninsured patients explore insurance options under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

The counselors provide community members with education on New Jersey's health care coverage options or enrollment assistance on state-based programs such as Medicaid and NJFamilyCare, every Tuesday from 12:30-4 p.m. at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center, 901 W. Main Street, Freehold.

To better select a health plan with the right balance of costs and coverage, bring along social security numbers, birth dates, pay stubs or tax statements, current health insurance policy numbers, and information about any health insurance you or your family could get from your employer when meeting with a counselor.

No appointments are required to meet with a CAC and the sessions are free. For more information about speaking to a Certified Application Counselor at CentraState Medical Center, call Narshonna Townes at 609-480-8834 or Gloria McKithen at 609-819-6157.

CentraState Healthcare System is a nonprofit community health organization consisting of an acute-care hospital, a health and wellness campus, three senior living communities, a Family Medicine Residency Program, and a charitable foundation. CentraState’s teaching program is sponsored by Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
