CentraState's Radiation Oncology facility is staffed by nationally renown, board-certified radiation oncologists who trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard Medical School, among others. These physicians are frequently quoted and publish findings that create better treatment options for cancer patients.
The expert and caring staff who assist them include radiation therapists, registered nurses, medical physicists and, as needed, board-certified surgeons, radiologists and other healthcare professionals from across the disciplines. Edward M. Soffen, MD
Edward M. Soffen, MD, is medical director of the Radiation Oncology Department at CentraState Medical Center. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University, he earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey and a residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Soffen was on the faculty of Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and was an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He currently is a clinical assistant professor at the Robert Wood Johnson University School of Medicine and a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiology, the Radiology Society of New Jersey, the Mercer County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. He is a Board Member of the Oncology Society of New Jersey and the Breast Cancer Resource Center. Dr. Soffen has authored many articles and has received many awards, including being selected as a "Top Doctor" in New Jersey and being named among the "Best Doctors in America."
Henry K. Tsai, MD
Henry K. Tsai, MD, received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, after graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College. He completed his residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program, where he was named Chief Resident. He also completed programs in biostatistics, epidemiology and health policy at the Harvard School of Public Health.
The author of numerous peer-reviewed articles on prostate and other cancers, Dr. Tsai was selected to the prestigious CaPSURE Scholars Program for prostate cancer outcomes research. He is involved in clinical research and has a particular interest in the development of technological advances in radiation oncology. He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
Neesha Rodrigues, MD
Neesha Rodrigues, MD, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College where she earned the John Harvard Scholarship and Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Scholarship for "academic achievement of the highest distinction." She received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine where she was awarded the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation for "outstanding women" in her class. Dr. Rodrigues completed her residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program and the Summer Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to joining CentraState, she was an attending physician in the Radiation Oncology department at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ.
Dr. Rodrigues has co-authored peer-reviewed articles on prostate and breast cancer, and presented studies at national meetings of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and at the ASCO Prostate Cancer Symposium.
Oren Cahlon, MD
Oren Cahlon, MD, graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa from the University of Michigan and received his medical degree with highest honors from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, where he was valedictorian. He completed his internship and residency in radiation oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was selected as chief resident.
A recipient of numerous honors and awards, Dr. Cahlon has presented his research findings on prostate, head and neck,and extremity tumors at national scientific meetings and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles. He has extensive experience in the application of image-guided radiation (IGRT), intensity modulated radiation (IMRT) and brachytherapy. Dr. Cahlon is an active member of many professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology.

John C. Baumann, MD
John C. Baumann, MD, graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Medical School. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, a residency and chief residency in radiation oncology at Harvard Medical School's Joint Center for Radiation Therapy, and a fellowship in radiation oncology at Harvard Medical School.
From 1981-1985, Dr. Baumann was appointed the chief of radiation oncology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the associate program director of the Joint Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program of the USUHS affiliated hospitals, a member of the Radiotherapy Committee of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, a member of the Radiology Advisory Medical Team of the Department of Defense, and the consultant to the Surgeon General of the United States in radiation oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Academy of Medicine of New Jersey, Mercer County Medical Society, and New Jersey State Medical Society.
Robert M. Cardinale, MD
Robert Michael Cardinale, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was appointed Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
He is a member of the Society for Neuro-Oncology, The American Board of Radiology and the American College of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Cardinale is a nationally recognized leader in the fields of Radiation Oncology and Sterotactic Radiosurgery. His special awards and honors are numerous and include the Resident Teaching Award from the Department of Radiation Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Cardinale was elected as a "Best Physician" by Richmond Magazine, and received the Civilian Award from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has written numerous publications on radiation oncology, including several book chapters, editorials, abstracts and has presented his work at many national and international scientific meetings.
Brian H. Chon, MD
Brian H. Chon, MD, attended medical school at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Chon was elected to the Alpha Omega Honors Society and was a recipient of the UMDNJ Basic Science Research scholarship and the Hunter-Grubb scholarship for medical studies.
After graduating, Dr. Chon became a resident of Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, where he was named Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology. Dr. Chon continued his medical career with a fellowship for science research on breast oncogenesis at Harvard Medical School. His professional memberships include the American Medical Association and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology.
Douglas A. Fein, MD
Douglas A. Fein, MD, received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine where he was elected chief resident. He then joined the faculty of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Fein has been a member of the American College of Radiology Committee on Marketing/Public Relations and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guideline Committee for Sarcoma since 1996.
Todd W. Flannery, MD
Todd W. Flannery, MD, graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University and received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he was valedictorian. He completed his residency and chief residency in radiation oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in Proton Beam Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Flannery has received numerous honors, including the Giuseppe Inesi Biochemistry Award and two awards from the American Society of Radiation Oncology. As pitcher and captain of his baseball team at Johns Hopkins, he was selected to the Academic All-American 1st Team. Dr. Flannery has presented his research findings on brain, prostate, lung, gastrointestinal and breast cancer treatments at numerous scientific meetings, and he is an active member of many oncologic professional societies, including the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
Andrew S. Greenberg, MD
Andrew S. Greenberg, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed an internship at Morristown Memorial Hospital and a residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Greenberg is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiology, Medical Society of New Jersey, Oncology Society of New Jersey, and the Mercer County Medical Association. He is a member of the Medical Center at Princeton's Cancer Control Committee and Bioethics Committee, and is the co-director of MCP's Tumor Board. Dr. Greenberg has been among New Jersey Monthly's "Top Doctors in New Jersey."
