Meet Our Team

CentraState's Radiation Oncology facility is staffed by nationally renown, board-certified radiation oncologists who trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard Medical School, among others. These physicians are frequently quoted and publish findings that create better treatment options for cancer patients.
 
The expert and caring staff who assist them include radiation therapists, registered nurses, medical physicists and, as needed, board-certified surgeons, radiologists and other healthcare professionals from across the disciplines. This skilled team works closely to ensure each patient the highest quality care available anywhere.
Edward M. Soffen, MD
Edward M. Soffen, MD, is medical director of the Radiation Oncology Department at CentraState Medical Center. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University, he earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey and a residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident.
 
Dr. Soffen was on the faculty of Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and was an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He currently is a clinical assistant professor at the Robert Wood Johnson University School of Medicine and a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiology, the Radiology Society of New Jersey, the Mercer County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. He is a Board Member of the Oncology Society of New Jersey and the Breast Cancer Resource Center. Dr. Soffen has authored many articles and has received many awards, including being selected as a "Top Doctor" in New Jersey and being named among the "Best Doctors in America."
Henry K. Tsai, MD
Henry K. Tsai, MD, received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, after graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College. He completed his residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program, where he was named Chief Resident. He also completed programs in biostatistics, epidemiology and health policy at the Harvard School of Public Health.
 
The author of numerous peer-reviewed articles on prostate and other cancers, Dr. Tsai was selected to the prestigious CaPSURE Scholars Program for prostate cancer outcomes research. He is involved in clinical research and has a particular interest in the development of technological advances in radiation oncology. He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
Neesha Rodrigues, MD
Neesha Rodrigues, MD, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College where she earned the John Harvard Scholarship and Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Scholarship for "academic achievement of the highest distinction." She received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine where she was awarded the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation for "outstanding women" in her class. Dr. Rodrigues completed her residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program and the Summer Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to joining CentraState, she was an attending physician in the Radiation Oncology department at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ.
 
Dr. Rodrigues has co-authored peer-reviewed articles on prostate and breast cancer, and presented studies at national meetings of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and at the ASCO Prostate Cancer Symposium.
Oren Cahlon, MD
Oren Cahlon, MD, graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa from the University of Michigan and received his medical degree with highest honors from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, where he was valedictorian. He completed his internship and residency in radiation oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was selected as chief resident.
 
A recipient of numerous honors and awards, Dr. Cahlon has presented his research findings on prostate, head and neck,and extremity tumors at national scientific meetings and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles. He has extensive experience in the application of image-guided radiation (IGRT), intensity modulated radiation (IMRT) and brachytherapy. Dr. Cahlon is an active member of many professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology.
