The Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Family Medicine Residency Program at CentraState Medical Center is a university-sponsored residency program located in the culturally diverse community of Freehold, NJ, in beautiful Monmouth County, close to the Jersey Shore and about an hour from New York City and Philadelphia. Our goal is to provide our graduates the tools needed to excel in any future family medicine practice environment.

About the Program

Shaping the Future of Family Medicine

Our unique Family Medicine Residency program is shaping the future of medicine by providing residents with endless opportunities for growth and a supportive faculty at a community hospital where family medicine is respected. Hear directly from our residents and see us in action by connecting with us on social media.

Community Outreach

One of the great strengths of our residency program is our extensive community outreach. Our residents are involved in public health screenings for various conditions including diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, and several types of cancer.

In addition, our residents conduct workshops at local schools to educate school nurses, as well as Freehold High School students in the elite Medical Science Program.

Our residents also collaborate with senior centers in Freehold, Howell, Monroe and East Windsor. They conduct talks on wide range of topics such as Eating and Aging: Food for the Mind, Body and Soul; What to Expect at the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit, and the Health Effects of Stress and How to Manage It.

Connect with us on Facebook to stay up to date on all the ways we are making a difference in the community.
