Our Commitment to the Community

Our Commitment to the Community2019-11-19T10:57:12-05:00

From services that help keep individuals healthy to initiatives that help keep the planet healthy, we are committed to enhancing the well-being of our community and providing value in everything we do. We not only provide the highest level of diagnostic, treatment, prevention, and wellness services, but also work to identify specific needs and create solutions that brings highest level of benefits back home. We are proud and honored to serve the community in everything we do.

IMPROVING ACCESS TO CARE

Positioned to serve thousands of patients annually, the Freehold Family Health Center has been designed to benefit the community with the comprehensive services needed to keep families healthy for generations to come. It is the only federally qualified health center in the area to offer a wide array of primary, preventive, prenatal, behavioral health, specialty, and educational health services for people of all ages and all means in a state-of-the-art 25,000 square-foot facility. In addition to serving as a teaching facility for CentraState’s Family Medicine Residency Program, it is paired with an array of programs under the VNA Health Group’s Children and Family Health Institute, such as a Women, Infants, and Children’s (WIC) clinic, early intervention programs, home care services, and cancer education and early detection programs.

SUSTAINABILITY

CentraState cares about keeping both people and the planet healthy. That’s why we are reducing the environmental impact on the community by generating more than 60% of our own electricity with solar energy. The new solar carports installed in 2019, in combination with the solar farm at the back of the health system’s property, puts CentraState first of any other hospital in the state in solar resources.

From health screenings and events to a wide range of wellness offerings through our Live Life WellSM initiative, we are strengthening our commitment to help people in our region stay healthy and out of the hospital altogether.

AN A FOR SAFETY

At CentraState, quality starts with patient safety. Our “A” grade from the Leapfrog Group — an independent, national healthcare rating organization — places us among the top-performing medical centers in the nation for patient safety. This elite designation is the result of our high standards and relentless efforts to provide the safest care to our patients.

ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE & EXPANDING OPTIONS IN CANCER CARE

CentraState received three-year reaccreditation from The Commission on Cancer and three-year full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, demonstrating our commitment to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients. CentraState is also expanding the range of treatment options available to patients with cancer. Recently designated a National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) site of the Atlantic Health Cancer Consortium (AHCC). As the first and only New Jersey-based NCORP, AHCC will help develop and implement NCI cancer prevention efforts, screening, care delivery, and treatment studies with leading healthcare systems across the state. This program will allow CentraState to provide access to certain cutting-edge cancer research trials for adult patients in our region.
