CentraState is proud to announce that Robert Pedowitz, DO, medical director of Family Practice of CentraState, has been selected as Physician of the Year by the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS). NJAOPS is the state affiliate of the American Osteopathic Association, representing the interests of more than 4,700 osteopathic physicians, residents, interns and medical students in New Jersey.

Each year, NJAPOS recognizes one physician who through voluntary civic and educational activity supports the advancement of the osteopathic profession and quality health care in New Jersey, according to NJAOPS Executive Director Tajma Kotoric.

An active member of NJAOPS for many years, Dr. Pedowitz served as president in 2015-2016, focusing on improving communication between physicians and patients, and improving the quality of health care throughout the state. Board-certified in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine, Dr. Pedowitz’s practice includes patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatric, and has specialty clinical interests in sports medicine, asthma and allergies, back pain, men’s health and preventive medicine.

“Dr. Pedowitz leads by example,” said Kotoric. “NJAOPS has been very fortunate to have Dr. Pedowitz as a member and tireless advocate for the association and the osteopathic profession.”

Dr. Pedowitz was acknowledged at the NJAOPS’s 118th Atlantic Region Osteopathic Convention (AROC) held last month in Atlantic City, NJ.
