CentraState Healthcare System Names New Board of Trustee Officers

FREEHOLD, NJ, JANUARY 2, 2024 – CentraState Healthcare System, a partner of Atlantic Health System, today announced its 2024-2026 Board of Trustee officers, marking the organization’s first all-women slate of board leaders. Nadia K. Batchelor will serve as chair. Maureen M. Lawrence has been named vice chair, and Barbara J. McMorrow is the new secretary/treasurer.

New Board of Trustee Officers: 

Nadia K. Batchelor joined CentraState’s Board of Trustees in 2018 and served as secretary/treasurer in 2022-2023. A resident of Manalapan, Batchelor currently serves as managing director and chief operating officer at Jefferies Wealth Management, in New York City. Previously, she held leadership roles at Morgan Stanley and American Express.  Batchelor earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Maureen M. Lawrence joined CentraState’s Board of Trustees in 2017. Lawrence’s extensive career in higher education leadership included the role of chief financial officer at St. Francis College, as well as vice president of Finance and Administration at both Middlesex County College and Brookdale Community College. Lawrence received a bachelor’s degree from Monmouth University, a master’s from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She resides in Lavallette.

Barbara J. McMorrow joined CentraState’s Board of Trustees in 2020. Previously a mayor of Freehold Township, McMorrow is currently a Monmouth County Library Commissioner and a member of the Legal Aid Society of Monmouth County. McMorrow taught at Freehold High School before retiring in 2003 as principal of Howell High School. She served as a councilwoman for Freehold Borough and as the Director of the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders. A devoted public servant, McMorrow has the distinction of being the only person to serve on the governing bodies of the Borough and the Township.
