CentraState Medical Center is launching a new online grief support group led by CentraState’s Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) certified in grief counseling to aid those who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

“Grief is a normal, healthy response to loss, and having a safe, supportive environment to share feelings can provide both relief and companionship,” says Amy Metzger, MSW, LCSW, CTTS. “The difficulties of living through a pandemic in the past year have made it more challenging to connect with others, which is a significant part of the healing process that we want to provide to community members who are grieving.”

The grief support group is open for adult members of the community who have experienced the loss of a loved one and will be co-facilitated by two master’s level certified grief counseling specialists. The private groups will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for participants to share their emotions and struggles.

The group will meet via Zoom on the first and third Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m. beginning on May 6, 2021. To get additional information or register, call 732-303-5170 or email Ametzger@Centrastate.com or Ssouza@Centrastate.com.
