CentraState physician named president of NJAOPS
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP—Robert Pedowitz, DO, a board-certified family medicine physician on staff at Family Practice of CentraState, was recently named president of the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS). NJAOPS represents more than 4,000 osteopathic physicians and medical students in New Jersey, and strives to advance the distinctive philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine.
Dr. Pedowitz graduated from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Mo.  He completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ.
Dr. Pedowitz is the medical director of the Family Practice of CentraState, which has offices in Freehold, Hightstown, Monroe, Colts Neck and Jackson. He is board-certified in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine, and has specialty clinical interests in sports medicine, asthma and allergies, back pain, men’s health, and preventive medicine. He sees patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatric, and he speaks both English and Spanish. Dr. Pedowitz, as president of NJAOPS, has a focus on improving communication amongst physicians and patients, and improving the quality of healthcare in New Jersey.
Kenneth Eng, DO, board-certified osteopathic physician on staff at CentraState, and Evan Wright, DO, an osteopathic physician in CentraState’s Family Medicine Residency Program, were also named to the NJAOPS board.
CentraState Healthcare System is a nonprofit community health organization consisting of an acute-care hospital, a health and wellness campus, three senior living communities, a Family Medicine Residency Program, and a charitable foundation. CentraState’s teaching program is sponsored by Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
