CentraState Receives Merit Award from Monmouth County Planning Board

The Monmouth County Planning Board recently presented CentraState Healthcare System with the 2019 Planning Merit Award in recognition of its Solar Energy Initiative which has given CentraState the distinct honor of being the largest hospital producer of solar energy in the State of New Jersey.

The Board’s Merit Award Program recognizes those plans, projects, programs, individuals, municipalities, businesses, community leaders, and stakeholder organizations that have made a significant contribution to the advancement of planning and planning outcomes in Monmouth County.

CentraState’s carport installment, in combination with the solar farm on the property, will allow CentraState to generate 61 percent of its electric consumption, achieve savings of approximately a half million dollars in energy costs each year, and reduce the hospital’s drain on Freehold Township’s electrical grid.
