CentraState to Offer Unique Program on Healthy Aging on Sept. 14

CentraState Medical Center is offering Your Best Health Now, a fun and informative program about feeling younger – longer on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Bartley Healthcare and Rehabilitation, 175 Bartley Road, Jackson.

Participants can learn how to stay fit and eat well to maintain an active lifestyle in the years ahead during a series of three lectures presented by CentraState clinicians. The lectures include:

  • 6-6:30 p.m. –“Never Forget a Name/Master Your Memory” instructed by Marilyn Abrahamson, MA, CCC-SLP. You’ll laugh while you learn the technique used by memory experts around the world to help improve memory for names of people you meet every day.
  • 6:40-7:10 p.m. –“Moving for Longevity” instructed by Brian Mason, DPT, clinical director of Rehabilitation Services. New studies show the importance of maintaining mobility and improving movement and how it will impact the quality of your life and possibly your longevity. Learn easy-to-adapt strategies that could significantly enhance your enjoyment of life.
  • 7:20-7:50 p.m.—“Healthy Eating From Head to Toe” instructed by Caryn Alter, MA, RD. Explore the link between the food we eat and the health of our brain, heart, and bones. Get easy tips on how small changes in your diet may provide big benefits to your health.
